Home Educators

Research scientists often work in groups, which allows them to share their combined ideas, knowledge and experience. By its very nature, science is a subject that is quite difficult to study as a single individual. Young Experimenters workshops hope to provide a environment similar to that enjoyed by research scientists, thus bringing science alive to children in a unique and exciting way. Furthermore, Young Experimenters workshops aim to guide children on a journey of scientific discovery through the exploration of scientific phenomena, develop their scientific thinking, and use skills key to scientific working.

Upcoming Workshops

The workshops listed below are a provisional plan. The workshops in orange will be aimed at older children, aged ten upwards, whilst the workshops in green will aimed at younger children, aged 6 upwards. Please note: The ages are intended as a guide: those workshops intended for the older age range will be pitched at a slightly higher level.

Cost: Each workshop costs £5 per child.

Venue: The workshops are held at Bedminster Methodist Church Hall, British Road, Bedminster, Bristol. BS3 3BW. There is limited parking at the church hall, but there is also a free car park on Diamond Street, about 5 minutes walk away.

Time: There is currently one workshop for older children, which starts at 10.45 and last for 1 hour. There are two consecutive workshops for younger children, aged 6+, at 10.45 and 12.15.

These workshops are cancelled until January. Please watch this space for further details.
