This Saturday is the second Saturday Science Club, which will be using a well known scientific phenomena to create fridges that work without electricity! This workshop is inspired by a technology that has been used across the world for millennia to keep food cool. In 2000, a Rolex Award for Enterprise Laureate was awarded to a Nigerian teacher who adapted the technology to transform the lives of those living in rural Nigeria. Another version of the technology has been used to great acclaim in townships across Southern Africa.

Prior to this workshop we are asking the children to design their own fridges, and to bring a drawing of their inventions with them to add to our gallery. We are looking forward to seeing some of their amazing ideas!
